The climate of Tahiti remains warm and sunny throughout the year. There are no extremes of temperatures and the weather is mild and enjoyable for most months of the year. The climate of Tahiti can be divided into two broad categories.

The Warm and Humid Season

Since Tahiti lies in the southern hemisphere, so the seasons are the reverse of those found in the northern hemisphere. The warm and humid season at Tahiti commences in October and continues up to April. The average temperature at mid day during this season is around 85 F and during night it falls to little more than 70 F. The weather is warm, the rainfall and humidity excessive, but still Tahiti has much more sunshine hours than Honolulu. From October to April, no month records less than 4 inches and December and January each have 12 inches of rainfall but there are also many lovely sunny days with refreshing trade winds during these months.

The Cool and Dry Season

This season lasts from May to September. Temperatures are cooler and rainfall less than the warmer season. Average day time temperature is about 80 F and at might it falls to a little less than 70 F. Nights, during this season, are especially refreshing with their cool gentle breeze and comfortable humidity levels. Rainfall figures during this season vary from less than 2 inches in September to a little more than 4 inches in May.
